Plans and what each limit means

What each plan includes, how the monthly limits are counted and what happens when you reach one.

6 minutes to read

Every plan can send email letters. A paid plan raises the limits and adds features. Paper letters are paid with credits on every plan, so they are not part of the monthly allowance.

Your own plan, and how much of it you have used this month, is on the Subscription page: Email letters this month, Files this month, File storage and your Paper letter credits.

What each limit means

Email letters per month

  • A letter is counted when you send or schedule it, not when it is delivered. A letter that is scheduled is delivered whatever your plan is later
  • One letter counts once, however many recipients it has
  • The count starts again on the first day of each calendar month, not on the day you pay. The Subscription page shows the day as Next reset
  • Letters you do not use are not carried over to the next month
  • Deleting a letter that has reached no recipient gives its place back, as long as you delete it in the same month you created it
  • Paper letters are not counted. They are paid with credits

Schedule ahead

How far ahead the delivery date can be, counted from today. The longest any plan allows for an email letter is 100 years. A paper letter can wait at most 5 years, or as far as your plan schedules if that is less.

The range is checked when you choose the date. A letter that is already scheduled, by email or on paper, keeps its date if you later move to a plan with a shorter range.

Files and storage

Files travel with an email letter and are uploaded at the moment you send or schedule it. A plan whose file rows are marked as not included has no attachments and no recordings.

Largest file
The size one file may have. No plan goes above 100 MB, which is the most the server takes in one upload.
Files per letter
How many files one letter can carry.
Files per month
How many files you can upload in a calendar month. It starts again on the first day of the month. Voice and video recordings are files and count too.
File storage
The size of all files you have stored together, in letters that wait and in letters that were delivered. Room comes back when you delete a file on the Files page, when you delete its letter, or when a file is removed 30 days after the link of its delivered letter has expired.

Voice and video recordings

The longest voice or video message you can record in the composer with Voice and Video. A recording is attached as a file, so it also needs a free place among your files and room in your storage.

Features that come with a plan

Send anonymously
The recipient does not see your name or your address. Plans that include it: Time Master Pro and Postmaster. A letter that was scheduled as anonymous stays anonymous.
Email layouts
The look of the notice email your recipient gets. Every plan has the standard layout. Plans with more layouts: Time Master Pro and Postmaster. The table shows which plan has the premium ones too.
Priority delivery
When more letters are due at the same moment than can be sent in one go, letters from plans with priority delivery go first. At any other time it makes no difference.
Change a scheduled letter
Edit an email letter that is still waiting for its delivery date. Plans that include it: Postmaster. On every plan you can delete a scheduled email letter and write it again, and you can correct an email letter that failed. A scheduled paper letter can be changed on every plan, until 1 hour before it is posted.
Write with AI
Describe the letter in a sentence or two and get a draft you can edit, for email and paper letters. Plans that include it: Postmaster.
Paper letter credits included each month
Credits that are added to your balance with every paid month: with the first payment and with each renewal. They are ordinary credits, so they do not expire and they stay if you change plan later. A change of plan in the middle of a paid month adds none. The first ones come with the next renewal.

When you reach a limit

Nothing is charged and nothing already scheduled is touched. The composer tells you which limit is in the way before the letter is saved.

Credits for paper letters

A paper letter costs one credit or more, on any plan. You buy credits in packs, they do not expire, and you do not need a paid plan to use them. Postmaster has its own pack prices.

Questions and answers

Can I change my plan at any time?

Yes. You change your plan on the Subscription page and cancel it on the Billing page, whenever you like.

What happens to scheduled letters if I move to a smaller plan?

They are still delivered. A letter is counted when you schedule it, and its delivery does not depend on the plan you have later. An email layout that the smaller plan does not include is replaced by the standard one.

How long can the recipient open an email letter?

For as long as you choose when you write it: 1 hour, 1 day, 5 days, 30 days, 90 days, and 1 year, counted from delivery. After that the link stops working, unless you extend it.

Do credits expire?

No. Credits stay on your account until you use them.

Are there any other fees?

No. You pay for your plan and for the credits you buy, nothing else. Prices are in US dollars, so your bank may convert the amount.

Is my payment safe?

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
