Everything sensitive in a letter is encrypted before it is saved in our database: the subject, the text, the recipients and the files. It is decrypted only to deliver the letter and to show it to you or to the recipient.

What does the recipient get?
For an email letter, an email that says a letter is waiting, with a private link and an access code. They enter their email address and the code, then read the letter and its files on FuturePostman. For a paper letter, a printed letter in an envelope, in their mailbox.
How far into the future can I send a letter?
An email letter can wait up to 100 years on a paid plan and up to 1 year on the free plan. A paper letter can wait up to 5 years, and never longer than your plan allows.
What if the recipient's address changes before the letter is sent?
You can change the postal address of a paper letter until one hour before it is posted. To change the email address on a scheduled email letter you need a plan that includes editing scheduled letters. On every plan you can delete the letter and write it again.
Can I edit or cancel a letter after I have scheduled it?
Yes, you can delete a scheduled letter on every plan. Editing a scheduled email letter needs the Postmaster plan. A paper letter can be changed or deleted on every plan until one hour before it is posted, and deleting it gives its credits back.
How do paper letters and credits work?
You write the letter on screen. We print it, put it in an envelope and post it on the day you choose. Paper letters are paid with credits, on any plan. A letter costs one credit or more, depending on the destination country and the delivery option, and the composer shows the exact cost before you confirm. Credits do not expire.
How are my files protected?
Files are stored encrypted. The recipient opens them through a private link that only works together with an access code. The link stops working when the time you chose runs out, too many wrong attempts lock it for a while, and each file can have a download limit.
What happens if I stop paying for my plan?
Your account goes back to the limits of the free plan. Letters you have already scheduled are still delivered, and credits for paper letters stay on your account.
